The posters have arrived and are looking lovely!

Tickets are now on sale for our Christmas concert in Lewes on Sunday 22nd December at 6pm.

We’ll be singing Vivaldi Gloria, plus carols and festive pieces including ‘Verbum Caro Factum Est’ from the Christmas Reponsories by Portuguese baroque composer João Rodrigues Esteves, and ‘Ecco il Messia’, a lovely short motet for upper voices.

Other pieces you’ll hear include two of Poulenc’s Four Christmas Motets, Sally Beamish ‘In the stillness’, Jonathan Dove ‘The Three King’s and favourites such as ‘Away in a Manger’.

Having a string quartet led by world class violinist Julia Bishop, with Howard Beach on chamber organ, will make for a really special event. As well as accompanying us in a couple of the carols,  the players will be performing the exciting ‘Winter’ from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons – yes! On single strings. It must a first, in Lewes at least!

As always there will be candlelight, fizz, wine and chocolates in the interval, and maybe even a surprise or two…
